Description
No. 7 High Street is a cottage in a row, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick in English garden wall bond and has a colourwashed Welsh slate roof that is continuous with its neighbors, along with a brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys and two bays. It features horizontal-sliding sash windows with 16 panes, which are set under false-keystoned lintels. Between the bays, there is a 19th-century flush-panel door in a plain opening, with a gauged brick, slightly segmental-arched head. The interior has not been seen. This cottage is likely the best-preserved example of the first terrace of 'ribbon development' in High Street/West Street, which dates from around 1820.
