Description

The Grange is a detached house dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of Cary stone, squared and cut, with dressings of Doulting stone, and has a plain clay tiled roof between coped gables. Brick chimney stacks feature traditional baffles. The house is two storeys and has four bays. It has a high, chamfered plinth and a continuous string course to the ground floor. Stone courses at the eaves suggest the roof level has been raised. The windows are hollow-chamfered mullioned, set in slight recesses, with three lights below and two lights above, featuring rectangular leaded panes, iron framed opening lights, and internal vertical iron bars. A lower porch of open stone, with a Welsh slate roof and a plain gable, is located in the lower bay of the second bay. The porch has a four-centre chamfered arch with a square carved panel, depicting foliage, above it. The internal door is a six-panel door on a heavy frame. A two-storey extension to the north gable is present behind a plain wall with a parapet. The interior was not inspected.
