Description
Nos 1 and 2 are terrace houses, now used as offices, dating from around 1820. They are rendered and colourwashed, with the side of No 1 being roughcast. The houses have Welsh slate roofs with plain verges at the gables and a roughcast chimney stack on No 1. Each house is two storeys high with two bays, and they are built in stepped pairs, with Nos 1 and 2 being the lowest. There are central doorways on either side of the party wall, with the upper panels of both doors removed for glazing, and segmental timber porch hoods supported by simple wooden brackets. Each house features one 16-pane sash window on each floor, with all glazing bars intact. The interiors have not been seen, and the rear extensions are of little interest. Both houses have boundary railings, with those for No 1 appearing to be original, while the railings on the churchyard side of the footpath are likely from the early 19th century. This stepped terrace of houses, along with Nos 3-6 Church Terrace, is an important part of the setting for the Church of St. John the Baptist.
