Description
Nos 3 and 4 are terrace houses, now used as offices, built around 1820. They are rendered and colourwashed, featuring a Welsh slate roof and a brick chimney stack to the right of No 3. Each house has two storeys with two bays, and they are arranged in stepped pairs, with Nos 3 and 4 being the middle pair. There are central doorways on either side of the party wall, and the upper panels of both doors have been removed for glazing, each having a segmental timber porch hood supported by simple wooden brackets. Each house has one 16-pane window on each floor, with all glazing bars intact. The interiors were not seen, and the rear extensions are of little interest. While there are no boundary railings at the front of this pair, early 19th-century railings continue on the churchyard side of the access path. This stepped terrace is part of a larger group that includes Nos 1 and 2 and Nos 5 and 6 Church Terrace, and it plays an important role in the setting of the Church of St. John the Baptist.
