Description

The Wellhead, located 80 metres east of Summerhouse, is a 19th-century structure made of Portland stone and features a wrought iron canopy. It has a circular plan with a moulded plinth and a plain stone base. The wrought iron canopy is supported by six barley-sugar twist columns and has an openwork design resembling an almost Russian crown, topped with a ball and flag finial. Inside the canopy, there is a sculpture of three boys, which is part of a collection of landscape items from a large estate. The main house, built in 1881, is of lesser interest and is not listed.
