Description

The penny monument, located about 2 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St. Margaret on St. Margaret's Road, is an early 19th-century chest tomb made of Ham stone. It features a moulded plinth on a stepped base and has one plain panel on each face, flanked by fluted pilasters. The top is moulded and coved, with shallow hipped sides and rounded leading edges. This monument commemorates Mary Penny, who died in 1832, along with other family members.
