Description
The John Greaves chest tomb, located in the churchyard 20 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St. George, dates from 1826. It is constructed of dressed stone and is set on a low moulded plinth. Each long side features two chamfered panels, while each end has a single panel. The tomb is adorned with bellied corner pilasters that support a fluted cornice. The top is a plain slab with a dedicatory inscription. The entire structure is surrounded by a low plinth that once supported a railed enclosure, which has since been removed.
