Description

Glebe Cottage is a house dating from the 15th century, with remodels from the 17th century and some alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of random rubble with flush dressed quoins on the left side and has a double-Roman tile roof. The building is a cross passage house, consisting of one storey and an attic with two bays on the left and one bay on the right.

On the left, there are three-light moulded stone-mullioned windows, with those on the ground floor and to the left of the attic featuring labels; a single leaded light remains on the first floor. The attic has openings in pent-roofed semi-dormers, which were formerly fully gabled. The right bay includes a two-light ovolo-moulded wooden-mullioned window on the first floor and a 20th-century casement window with two lights on the ground floor.

There is a broad door opening on the left with a double-ovolo-moulded wooden surround, leading to a broad studded plank door with a latch mechanism and iron strap hinges. Adjacent to the casement on the right is a further secondary door opening, which is a 20th-century studded plank door. A decorative lamp is mounted on a wrought iron bracket at the centre of the facade. Inside, features from the 15th and 17th centuries are preserved, particularly in the framing of the roof.
