Description

No. 12 Broad Street is a house with a shop, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is rendered and colourwashed, featuring a shallow pitch roof covered with concrete interlocking tiles and a brick chimney stack.

The exterior consists of three storeys and two bays, with plain pilaster strips at the ends. The shop front is from the 20th century and includes a central recessed doorway. The upper floors have 12-pane sash windows in plain openings on both levels, with the second-floor windows being narrower but of the same height as those below.

The building is part of the development that occurred after Broad Street, formerly known as Wette or Water Lane, was widened between 1835 and 1849. The interior has not been inspected.
