Description
Waldrons Farmhouse is a farmhouse that underwent enlargement in the 17th century from a late-medieval dwelling. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble and features a string course, coped gables, and an external stone stack on the right with buttresses. The building has two storeys and five bays, with 20th-century four-light casements and a 20th-century two-light casement to the left of the central gabled porch. The porch slightly jetties out on wooden corbels and has a four-centred arch doorway with moulded jambs that include runouts, leading to a 20th-century door. There is a carved angel on the gable. The interior has not been viewed, but it is reputed to be a late medieval hall house with jointed cruck trusses, modernized in the 17th century, and features chamfered beams with run-out stops.
