Description

Bennett's is an early 17th-century house, altered in the early 20th century. The main building is constructed of red sandstone rubble, with a turnerized slate roof and rendered stacks. It has two storeys and four bays, featuring four- and two-light casement windows with wooden lintels and louvered shutters. A six-panel fielded door is located to the center left, and there are 20th-century French windows with a greenhouse projection. An attached wing projects at a right angle to the left, rendered and with its own slate roof. This wing is two storeys high and has two bays, with four-light casement windows and a blocked doorway on the right side. A round-headed doorway is incorporated into the angle projection. It is reputed that the rear wing contains two jointed cruck roof timbers.
