Description

Farmhouse. Built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble with Bath stone dressings, and has a plain clay tile roof coped at the west end, extending over Horseshoe cottages to the east (which are not listed). It features brick chimney stacks at the ends and between the bays. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four bays, with the first bay being straight-jointed to the rest of the building. The lower section of the first bay contains a 20th-century flat-roofed segmental bay window with a three-light small-pane casement window above. The remaining bays have groups of three eight-pane sash windows, all under exposed timber lintels. A six-panel door is located in the third bay, with an architraved surround and a pediment hood supported by corbel brackets. The interior was not inspected. Cast iron railings, approximately 800mm high, are set into a low stone wall in front of the house. The railings have barbed arrowheads with acanthus leaf heads to the bracing standards. A milestone is situated adjacent to the railings.
