Description
The Baptist Church and Sunday School, along with its railings and gate, was built in 1824 and has undergone later alterations and additions. The main building features rough-cast render and a flat interlocking concrete tile roof. It is two stories high, with a north elevation that includes an ogee curved gable parapet and three gallery windows, one of which is blocked. These windows have semi-circular heads, keystones, and gothic pattern glazing bars. There is a central projecting flat-roofed porch with panelled double doors.
To the east side, there is a late 19th-century addition for the Sunday School, which is one and a half stories tall, made of render with a slate lean-to roof and sash windows. The rear wing is three stories high, also with rough-cast render and a slate roof, featuring a brick chimney stack and sash windows. The property is complemented by Art-Deco style cast-iron railings and a gate that lead to the forecourt and steps. It is prominently situated overlooking the town and is accessible via a footpath next to Nos 3-5 Brendon Road.
