Description
Nos 3 and 3A, known as Wyndene, is a large house dated 1859, prominently located at the north-west end of Causeway Terrace. The building features random rubble red sandstone with dressed stone details, and has vertical slate hanging on the roadside front, topped with a slate roof and coped gables. It is three storeys tall, plus an attic and basement. The main elevation has two windows, which are sashes with glazing bars, set in dressed stone reveals with voussoirs and keystones. The roadside elevation includes two windows per floor, along with a single attic window, all of which are sashes with glazing bars. At the rear, there are two 2-storey extensions with hipped slate roofs, constructed from rubble stonework and render. These extensions feature a single sash window and a panelled door, as well as a later single-storey lean-to extension with a tiled and glazed roof. Surrounding the house are low stone walls, square gate piers, sections of cast-iron railings, and two gates on the north-east and north-west sides.
