Description
The Blue Boar Inn was built in 1691 for Theophilus Lacey, although it may contain some earlier fabric. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features a modern pantile roof with end chimneys, one of which is made of stone. It has two gabled dormers and stands two storeys high with three windows. The windows on the ground floor are 19th-century sashes set in architraves, paired on the left-hand side. There is a plain central door opening and a panelled pier to the left on a moulded plinth, which is part of the earlier structure. A projecting wrought iron inn sign with a painted board is also present. Additionally, there is a two-storey extension over the river that includes two paired sashes on the first floor. The building has undergone many later alterations.
