Description

The Bridge is a Grade II listed structure that was widened and completely reconstructed in 1821. It is built from coursed and dressed rubble. The bridge features a wide elliptical-headed plain arch that spans the river, along with two smaller similar sub-arches at the west end. Additionally, there is an etch at right angles to the Blue House in the Market Place over a ditch, as well as several tunnels. Above the bridge, there is a terrace of houses, which are listed separately, that now serve as shops and a restaurant, located along one side of the bridge over the river Frome.
