Description

Bridge House and the cottage to the northwest are early 19th century features of a building that dates back to around the mid-18th century. The structure is designed in an 'L' plan and is constructed from coursed rubble, featuring relieving arches, a moulded cornice, and a parapet. The roof is modern pantile, hipped to the left, and there are two ashlar chimneys with moulded capping. A cast iron rainwater head on the right-hand gable is decorated with wreaths. The building has three cambered head dormers and is two storeys high, with three sash windows that include glazing bars and moulded architraves.

A projecting central porch, added in the later 18th century, is walled and features an entablature supported by pilasters. Inside, there is a mid-18th century doorpiece with a raised surround and brackets to a pediment that is broken to accommodate a ball. The interior was altered around 1800, featuring a wide entrance hall and a staircase in a circular well at the rear, with moulded soffits to the steps and wood grained finishes. There are two fireplaces on the ground floor, one at the front and another at the rear left, both with eared surrounds, marble cheeks, and decorative Adam style friezes. The shutters and doors inside have raised and fielded panels.

At the rear, there is an 'L'-plan extension with three gables facing the courtyard, one of which has a sundial. At right angles to the northwest is a 1½ storey cottage made of rubble with a pantile roof, partly covered with stone tiles.
