Description

No. 3 and the adjacent maltings form a late 18th or early 19th century building complex. It is likely that No. 3 was remodelled around 1821, following its depiction on a map from 1813. The building is constructed of coursed and dressed rubble, featuring a cornice, parapet, and a mansard roof with two hipped dormers. The front facade has two storeys and four windows, with 19th-century sash windows set in chamfered reveals. There are chamfered door openings, topped with a slab hood supported by brackets. A further bay on the left side has chamfered openings and a ledged door on each floor. Behind the main building is a long, low, two-and-a-half storey malting house with a mansard roof. A gable window indicates the location of a hoist in the centre of the roof, and the openings are topped with timber lintels.
