Description
2, Willow Vale is a late 18th-century house. It is constructed of coursed and dressed rubble with a cornice and parapet. The house is two storeys and has an attic, with two windows on each floor. The windows are 19th-century sash windows set in reveals. There are door openings to the right and left, each with a stone slab hood supported by brackets. The roof is tiled with pantiles and includes a late 19th-century gabled dormer. A gabled extension to the rear features a circa 1700 two-light gable window with an ovolo mullion. The building served as a malster’s house in the early 19th century, as evidenced by the nearby maltings behind number 3.
