Description

No. 1 Willow Vale is a late 17th-century building, altered in subsequent periods. It is a 2½-storey gabled front structure built of coursed rubble. The roof is covered with pantiles. A single 3-light window is located in the gable, featuring chamfered mullions and a drip stone. Mid-19th century windows are present below, with three cross-glazed sash windows on the first floor and one 16-pane sash window on the ground floor. The left-hand side features a six-panel door, accompanied by brackets supporting a moulded flat hood. Internally, there is a winder staircase, where some of the stair risers are moulded. The building was formerly owned by the Allen family, who were local dyers.
