Description
The Angel Hotel is a building that dates from the 18th century and earlier, with remodelling from the mid-19th century. It features painted rubble with block dressings and has a modern pantile roof, which includes one large gabled dormer and modern brick chimneys at both ends. The hotel is two storeys high and has four windows on the first floor, which are glazing bar sashes; the two central windows are likely from the 18th century, being narrower and having heavy glazing bars. The first-floor windows are framed with plain stone architraves.
On the ground floor, there is a central wide archway that is elliptical-headed, complete with a keystone and imposts. To the right, there are later sashes, while a modern bow window is situated to the left. The entrance features double doors with traceried panelling. There is a covered through-passage with a glazed door to the right, and to the left, there are two tripled glazing bar sash windows, along with one single window and two doors to the right. At the rear, there is a long range of extensions that flank the passage.
