Description

No. 50 Monmouth Street is a house built around 1830 to 1850. It features Flemish-bond brickwork, stone cills, and stepped voussoirs, topped with a slate roof that has bracketed eaves and a brick stack on the right gable end. The house has a double-depth plan and is two storeys high with a two-window range. The original 8/8-pane sash windows include margin panes; the first-floor windows have flat arches, while the ground-floor right window has a semicircular arch. The entrance door, which is set in a semicircular arch, is sheltered by a gabled trellised porch. The interior has not been inspected. This house is similar in design to Nos. 38-42 Monmouth Street and is included for its group value.
