Description

Ford Bridge Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble masonry with hammer dressed quoins and features a slate roof and stone stacks. The building is two stories high and has three bays. It includes sash windows with a single vertical glazing bar and a six-panel double door set in a moulded ashlar surround, complete with a fanlight above. At the rear, there is a pantiled outshot that has been enlarged into a two-story flat-roofed extension at the southeast end. This cottage occupies a prominent position at the entrance to Milverton from the Taunton Road.
