Description

Thorney Mill House is a miller's house built in the early 19th century. It features an ashlar frontage with coursed and squared rubble on the sides, coped verges, and slate roofs. The house has an ashlar stack with a moulded cap alongside a 20th-century reproduction concrete block stack. The main block is rectangular and symmetrical, with a lower wing at the rear. It is two stories tall and has three bays with 16-pane sash windows. The central entrance has a semi-circular head door opening with a fanlight above, a panelled door, and a small Doric stone portico that includes a cornice and blocking course. The lower wing at the back contains casement windows and one sash window.
