Description

This lamp post, located opposite number 14 and to the north-west of number 12 in Sheppards Barton, was built between 1901 and 1904 by the local art-metal firm of Singers. It features a cast-iron standard with a crook designed to suspend a lamp, which is adorned with art-nouveau style ornamentation. This lamp post is an attractive street feature and represents an early provincial example of electrification in town lighting.
