Description
Court House Cottages is a house that has been divided into two properties. It dates from the late 18th century and has had some alterations in the 19th century and later. The building is constructed from local stone that is roughly coursed, with Ham stone lintels. It features double Roman clay tiles on the roof, which has coped gables and brick end stacks. The structure is two stories high with a five-bay elevation facing the churchyard. The central bay is blank above a plain entrance that has a seven-panel door, three of which are glazed. The outer bays have 19th-century casement windows with three lights, while the inner bays have two-light windows, all with prominent keystoned lintels. On the south side, there is an entrance by the gable end doorway into the second cottage, which is flanked by late 19th-century sash windows. The cottages are included for their group value, particularly in relation to the nearby Church of St Mary and the Court House.
