Description
Lower Farm House is a farmhouse built in 1700. It is constructed from local stone that is cut and squared, resembling almost ashlar, with Ham stone dressings. The roof features Bridgwater patent triple angle clay tiles and has coped gables with brick end chimney stacks. The building has a double roof, is two stories high, and consists of three bays.
The entrance door, located between the first and second bays, has a moulded cambered arch and a 20th-century glazed door set in a recess. Between the second and third bays, there is a 16-pane sliding sash window with a timber lintel. Below bay one and in all bays above, there are cruciform ovolo mould mullioned and transomed windows without hoods, but with a string course at the head of the ground floor windows. There is a buttress with offsets on the left side of the house.
To the east of the main house, set well back, is a 19th-century two-story extension that matches the main building. This extension features plain doors and casement windows, with segmental voussoired arches on the ground floor.
