Description
The Old Rectory is a house from the 18th century, likely built on the site of an earlier structure, with modifications made in the 19th century. It is constructed from local stone that is cut and squared, with a random coursed finish. The roof is made of plain clay tiles and features ornamental ridge tiles between coped gables, along with brick chimney stacks at either end.
The building is two stories high and has a three-bay front on the north elevation, which displays a mix of window styles. The main entrance features a six-panelled door with four glazed panels, set within a timber architrave that has panelled reveals and a 20th-century pedimented hood. The windows include 16-pane and 12-pane double sash windows, along with three dormer windows dating from around 1900.
On the south gable, there is random fenestration, followed by a two-bay extension that has French windows on the ground floor and 16-pane sash windows above. There are additional extensions at the rear and a small lean-to on the right side of the front elevation.
