Description

The Sanatorium, Kings School, is a house from the early 19th century, located on the south side of High Street in Bruton. It is constructed from Doulting stone ashlar and features a plain clay tile roof with plain gables and brick chimney stacks. The building has three storeys and three bays. It includes a plinth and 12-pane sash windows in plain openings, which decrease in height with each storey. The entrance, located in the first bay, consists of a four-panel door with a margined fanlight, set within a stone surround that has flat Doric pilasters and a flat stone hood supported by corbel brackets. Inside, the property boasts moulded ceilings and cornices.
