Description
The Poplars is an early 19th-century house located on the east side of Bridgewater Road in West Monkton. The house is roughcast throughout, featuring rusticated quoins and window surrounds. It has a slate roof with coped verges and roughcast brick stacks to the gable ends. The building follows a double pile plan.
The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has 24-pane sash windows. The central entrance has a pair of doors with a fanlight above, all within raised surrounds and key stones. Only the right return has a window, a 16-pane sash. Projecting parapets on the returns obscure the sloping roof at the rear.
