Description

The Creech Castle Hotel is a house, dating to approximately 1850, which has been converted into a hotel. It is constructed of red sandstone random rubble with brick dressings, and features a crenellated parapet that hides the roof. There are external chimney stacks with brick caps on both sides of the building, and a plain string course at the second floor level.

The building has a roughly square plan, with a prominent full-height porch on the front facade, a four-stage stair turret at the rear, and a long service wing attached to the right. The architectural style is castellated. It is three storeys high, with a facade of three and a half bays. The windows are mullioned and transomed with leaded lights, and they have rendered cement surrounds. The central bay projects forward, featuring a large arched opening with a painted, rusticated surround, and blind niches on the returns. There are late 20th-century double doors with a fanlight above. A half-bay extension is located at the right end of the building, with blind openings and hood moulds on the first and second floors.

The right return has a pair of doors and a two-bay blind arcade constructed of brick on a stone plinth. This arcade connects to a long, two-storey service wing, which has a hipped slate roof. The interior has been altered in the 20th century. The house was the home of the Beadon family in the mid-19th century.
