Description
No. 6 High Street is a shop that was originally a house, with origins dating back to the 18th century. It is constructed from locally sourced stone that has been cut and squared, and it features a colourwashed finish. The building has a plain gabled roof with stone slate base courses and plain clay tiles above, along with brick chimney stacks at either end. It stands three storeys tall and has two bays. The early 20th-century shopfront is of good quality and designed in a late Art Nouveau style, featuring a two-light shop window set on glazed tile stall-risers and an angled door to the left, all beneath a deep fascia. Above the shopfront, there are two plain sash windows, and on the second floor, there are 12-pane sash windows. This building is of the same construction as No. 4 High Street but is in the same ownership as No. 8 High Street.
