Description

No. 10 High Street is a shop that was formerly a house, likely built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from local stone rubble and has a colourwashed finish, topped with a concrete double Roman tile roof supported by abutments. The building stands two storeys high with an attic and features two bays. The ground floor includes a 19th-century shopfront with flat Doric timber pilasters, a simple fascia, a 12-pane display window, and a recessed part-glazed door on the right. To the right, there is an open passage under a heavy timber beam that leads to Elliott's Barton. Above the shopfront, there are two 4-pane sash windows with moulded timber architraves. In the roof, there is a 20th-century flat-roofed plain dormer window in the second bay. The interior has not been seen.
