Description
No. 11 High Street is a house and shop that dates back to the 17th century, with a front that was remodeled in the 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick that has been colourwashed, topped with a Welsh slate roof featuring abutments. It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The shopfronts, which are plain stone, date from the 1950s or 1960s. Above the shopfronts, there are two 16-pane sash windows on either side of a central 12-pane sash window, all set in plain openings. The interior has undergone significant alterations, but the roof frame, which was exposed in October 1983, consists of at least three bays with collar tie and brace trusses. One of the trusses has holes for a wattle partition, and there are curved windbraces, with no smoke blackening observed. At the rear, there is an extension featuring a semi-circular headed sash window from the early 19th century.
