Description
No. 4 High Street is a shop that was formerly a house, with origins dating back to the 18th century. The building is constructed of local stone, which has been rendered and colourwashed. It features a half-hipped roof, with the lower courses covered in stone slates and the upper courses in plain clay tiles, along with a brick chimney stack. The structure stands three storeys high and consists of one bay.
The shopfront is simple, showcasing very wide 32-pane sash windows set in a plain frame, accompanied by a matching half-glazed door to the left, which is topped by a small fanlight. There is virtually no fascia present. On the first floor, there is a 16-pane sash window, and the second floor features a 2-light casement window. Although No. 4 is currently under the same ownership as No. 2, it was originally built as a pair with No. 6.
