GV II

Barn. Probably mid C18. Brick, with clay tile half hipped roof. 9-bays, with the roof carried down to low level at the rear. 2- long slit windows, one above the other, to bays 1, 2, 5 and 6: a 3-centred brick arched doorway flanked by stepped buttresses occupies bays 3 and 4; whilst bays 7, 8 and 9 are open and spanned by a massive timber beam with 3-centre arch to underside, set on impost blocks. Queen post roof trusses with 2 purlins to each slope. To the West a 2-storey C19 extension, then a C20 rendered extension with corrugated asbestos cement sheet roof. Makes a picturesque grouping with Lower Farmhouse (qv).
