Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was originally built as a rectory in the 17th century and has undergone modifications since then. It is constructed from local stone that is roughly squared and coursed, featuring timber lintels and a thatched roof, along with stone and rendered brick chimney stacks. The building has a "T"-shaped plan, with the "stalk" being an early 20th-century addition. The south elevation is two stories high and consists of four bays. The entrance is located in the third bay and features a four-panel door with two glazed panels, sheltered by a timber lattice porch topped with a lead bell-hipped roof. The windows are timber casements, some of which are leaded. In the second bay, there is a two-story, five-sided bay window of early 20th-century design, with lead-clad panels and a flat roof. To the north, there is an extension made of stone with a plain clay tile roof, as well as a one-story roofed lean-to. The roadside boundary wall stands about 2.5 meters high and is made of local stone with flat stone copings. The gate piers are made of Ham stone, square in plan, featuring plinths and moulded stone caps.
