Description
Springfield House is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of lias stone with Ham stone dressings, rendered and colourwashed, and has a hipped roof of Welsh slate. A central chimney stack of lias stone incorporates four flues grouped together. The house is designed in a villa style, with two storeys and three bays. It has a lias and Ham stone plinth. The windows are 16-pane sashes set in plain ashlar surrounds. The main entrance is a five-panelled door, with a rectangular fanlight above, protected by an open stone porch with a semi-circular outer arch set within a slight rectangular recess; the porch is little ornamented beyond a moulded cornice. A lower two-storey, one-bay extension matching the main house is attached to the north side. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
