Description
The Lodge to Kingsdon Manor is a 19th-century building, possibly designed by William Wilkins. It is constructed from local lias stone that is rendered and colourwashed, with ashlar detailing. The roof is made of Welsh slate and features hips on all sides except for the east front gable, which is overhung. The lodge has an L-plan layout, is two storeys tall, and consists of two bays.
The main elevation has a gabled projection in bay 1, which includes a square bay window with a configuration of one large light, three smaller lights, and another single light below. This bay has side pilasters and a flat roof that matches the main house. Above, there is a two-light casement window. Bay 2 is a single-storey extension that features a two-light window in a plain opening, with a six-fielded panel door to the left. All windows are fitted with cast iron diamond lattice lights, and similar windows are found on the side and rear of the building. The interior has not been seen, and the building was not in use as of July 1985.
