Description

Steart House is a house, later converted into flats, dating from the early 19th century. The exterior is rendered and colourwashed, with corner pilasters, a moulded cornice, and a parapet topped with a plain coping. The roof is slate-covered, with three box dormers featuring coped verges. Rendered stacks are also present. The design incorporates some Gothic detailing.

The house is two storeys high, with a basement and attic, and has three bays. It features sash windows with glazing bars, including decorative edge-lights. Some 20th-century casements are found in the basement, along with decorative, louvred shutters and dripmoulds. A door opening is located on the left, leading to a two-storey outshut with a flat roof, moulded strings and blind Gothic arcading. The door itself has a semi-circular head and is constructed of three panels, with 20th-century wrought-ironwork on the roof. A flat-roofed outshut at basement level extends to the rear, complemented by 19th-century ornamental wrought-iron railings.
