Description
Stoddens Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It has a core dating from the 17th century, with exterior features from the late 18th century. The building is constructed of local brick in Flemish bond and has a double-roman tile roof with a coped verge on the left side and three brick ridge stacks.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four bays. The first floor features flush-mounted 16-pane sash windows with cambered wooden lintels. There is a plain projecting brick band at the first floor level, and on the ground floor, there is a 20-pane sash window to the right, with brick voussoirs above it. To the left of the ground floor, there are half-glazed French windows, each with six panes. The central door opening has a plank door and a rustic porch.
To the right, there is an addition in a similar style, likely from the late 18th century, which also has a double-roman tile roof and a coped verge. This addition features a single three-light casement window on each floor, complete with glazing bars. Inside, there is a plastered beam inscribed with "John Pride 1688."
