Description
Edithmead Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dated 1786 as indicated by inscribed plasterwork in the attic. It features Flemish bond brickwork and a double-span pantile roof with coped verges and end brick stacks. The building has a symmetrical frontage with two storeys and an attic, consisting of three bays. It has 12-pane sash windows, except for a semi-circular head window in the center of the first floor, which has radiating glazing bars. The central door opening contains a 7-panelled door, with the top three panels glazed and a moulded wooden surround; there is a 20th-century hood supported by two plain wooden posts. To the right, there is a further two-storey wing of lower height with a single bay and two-light casements featuring horizontal glazing bars. To the left, there is a single-storey rubble addition that was formerly a cheeseroom.
