Description
The Elms is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century, with early 19th century additions and alterations. The building is rendered and features a roof made of double-roman tiles and pantiles, which has two sections with distinctly different pitches. It has three brick stacks and a left return that includes three prominent buttresses.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a symmetrical facade with two bays on the left and four bays on the right. On the left side, there are 12-pane sash windows on the first floor and a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor, both with stepped voussoirs above them. The right four bays contain 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, with the leftmost ground floor window also featuring stepped voussoirs. There are two door openings: a 6-panelled door to the left and a plank door to the right.
