Description

Burnham Low Lighthouse is a mid-19th century lighthouse located on the foreshore off Gore Road in Burnham-on-Sea. It is a square, weatherboarded timber structure topped with a hipped metal sheeting roof that features an oblong projection at its apex. On the seaward side, there is a 2-light casement window. The lighthouse is supported by nine wooden piers, some of which have plate metal reinforcement. At the rear, there is a wooden open-tread staircase with two flights and a wooden handrail, leading to a metal door. The entire structure is whitewashed, with a horizontal red stripe painted on the seaward side.
