Description

The north-east boundary wall, located about 10 metres from Home Farmhouse, dates from the 18th to 19th century and features gateways and a mounting block. Constructed from Ham stone, the wall is built in ashlar and includes a plinth, end pilasters, and shaped copings. There is a simple gateway leading to the house, which has a 20th-century wrought iron gate. Immediately to the northwest, there is a five-step stone mounting block. The wall returns back to the house on the south-east side in rubble stonework. Near the east corner, there is a gateway to the farmyard that includes 20th-century pedestrian and farm gates, with gateposts made of large single Ham stones that are tapered and pointed. This boundary wall is an important part of the setting for Home Farmhouse.
