Description

ST42SE MARTOCK CP COAT 3/158 North-east boundary wall about 10 metres from Home Farmhouse, with gateways and mounting block

GV II Boundary wall, gates, mounting block. C18/C19. Ham stone, wrot iron gate. Walling in ashlar, with plinth, end pilasters, shaped copings; simple gateway to house with C20 wrot-iron gate, and immediately to northwest a 5-step stone mounting block; return back to house on south-east side in rubble stonework; near the east corner the gateway to the farmyard, with C20 pedestrian and farmgates, of which the gateposts are all of large single Ham stones, tapered and pointed. The whole an important part of the setting to Home Farmhouse (q.v).
