Description
Littlecote is a detached house dating from the 17th century, constructed from Ham stone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof over stone slate base courses. The tall copings suggest that the building may have originally had a thatched roof. It features brick chimney stacks at both ends and in the middle.
The house has two storeys and an irregular arrangement of six bays. The upper windows are mullioned, with the arrangement of lights being 2, 3, 2, 3, 3, with no window in the sixth bay. Bays two and four have ovolo-moulded windows, while the others are hollow-chamfered and lack labels. The lower windows consist of hollow-chamfered in bay one and ovolo-moulded in bays two, four, four, three, and two, with bay three having no window and all featuring labels.
To the right of bay two, there is an ovolo-moulded cambered arched doorway with a deep lintel and label, which has a studded boarded door. Adjacent to bay three, there is a well with a stone slab cover, a metal handle, reel, and chain still in place. A small lean-to is attached to the north gable, and there are additional mullioned windows on the south gable. The interior has not been seen.
