Description

Greystones Farmhouse is a detached house dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of Ham stone ashlar with a plain clay tile roof, featuring stepped coped gables and ashlar chimney stacks. The house has two storeys and an attic, originally with four bays. It has ovolo-mould mullioned windows of three lights, incorporating horizontal bar infills and iron-framed opening lights. A continuous string course runs above the lower windows, stepping up over the third bay. A moulded cambered-arched doorway has a boarded door. A single-storey extension, likely from the 18th century, is set against the north-east gable; it originally had a Welsh slat roof and was thatched, and includes a three-light mullioned window set within an architrave. An oval attic window with a hoodmould is located in the gable of the main house, while a similar window without a hoodmould is in the south gable, above an open timber lean-to. The interior was not inspected.
