Description
No 5 Brewery Lane is a pair of cottages that date back to around 1700. Constructed from limestone rubble with squared quoins, the cottages feature a 20th-century pantile roof. The symmetrical facade consists of two storeys, with each cottage having a single bay. They are fitted with three-light roll-moulded stone mullioned windows that have angled drip moulds, except for a late 19th-century window on the first floor of the cottage to the west. Each door opening has a square-headed stone architrave, with the west cottage's door adorned with a moulded floral boss above and an angled label, leading to plank doors. The cottage to the east has a depressed four-centred arch surround to the fireplace on the ground floor. The building has group value with Woodlands Farmhouse. It was undergoing considerable alteration at the time of the re-survey in 1983.
