Description
Northover is a house dating from around 1700, which was refronted around 1840. It is constructed of rubble and rendered, with a 20th-century pantile roof and brick stacks at each gable and the center of the roof. The building has a rectangular plan and is two stories high with four bays. The windows are late 20th-century poly-vinyl chloride top hung casements with glazing bars, except for the second bay on the ground floor, which features a lead-roofed angular bay window with sash fenestration.
The entrance is a square-headed doorway in a plain stone surround, flanked by two-panelled pilasters that support a triangular pediment, with modern recessed double doors made up of four panels each. To the left, there is a stepped-back wing of lower height that is two stories and two bays wide. The ground floor of this wing has an ovolo moulded stone mullioned window with an angled label above, and to the left, there is a modern poly-vinyl chloride casement. The first floor features a two-light bead moulded mullioned window.
