Description
The mill building located at the rear of Charlton Brewery dates from around 1850. It is constructed from limestone rubble with squared quoins and features a slate roof with coped verges and brick stacks. This severe industrial-style structure has a rectangular plan and stands four storeys tall with four bays.
On the ground floor, there is a wide segmental arched doorway, along with two narrower doorways to the right that have 4-centred depressed arches, all set within stone surrounds. The building has two 3-light stone mullion casement windows with relieving arches above them. The first floor features regularly spaced 2-light stone mullion windows, also with relieving arches, while the second floor has 3-light mullion windows with side-hung wooden casements positioned directly under the eaves. Additionally, there is a loading door on the right return, accompanied by a small crane.
